Assembly Line Giveaway!

Is it hot in here or is it just that I'm running a one man sweat shop?

That's not a complaint. Honestly, I'm on a bit of a production high at the moment.

If you don't already have one - you should stop whatever you're doing and go out right now and find a hobby that makes you say to yourself (and anyone within earshot), "I'm sorry but I am awesome."

It think I've said that a couple of times today. And I gotta admit...it feels pretty good.

Everyone should have such a hobby.

I started the day with all these bits on my sewing table.
Oooo the potential!
With a new pattern in hand (the Market Bags pattern from Portabellopixie) I set to work.
First up...the linings. Check!
All in a row...
Viola! I am in love with this fabric (Wonderland by Momo for Moda Fabrics). Every time I look at it a new critter appears.

On a side note - should I feel a little less awesome since that pile beside the finished purses is six fabric pieces that never got used? Curious. So...I'm pretty sure the one with the green handles has my name on it. But - if you love this print and this bag as much as I do - enter to win it!!!

Here's how to enter:

for one chance to win:

  • post a comment below - tell me what hobby/job/activity makes you say, "Man, I'm awesome."

for additional chances to win:

  • link to this giveaway from your blog (tell me you’ve done so in a comment below)
  • post this giveaway on your facebook wall (tell me you've done so in a comment below)
  • subscribe to my blog via rss or email (tell me you’ve done so in a comment below)
  • follow my blog on google friend connect, which is located on the sidebar (tell me you’ve done so in a comment below)
A winner will be chosen and announced on Mother's Day morning! It will be very scientific - probably picked by a two year old.

Shameless self promotion and free stuff? That sounds like a win win to me!

If you're not the winner, don't dismay, I'll have this baby in my etsy shop first thing in the morning!

  1. Dear Jessa,

You are a goddess and I want a bag. My current hobby that makes me think I am awesome is my baking obsession. In the past two days I have made three loaves of bread, a dark chocolate tart, and my favorite spinach soup. Yum! I will bring some over.

    Love,
    Christa

  5. Love these, Jessa! So Spring-y!

My awesomeness: cooking healthy, whole meals from scratch most every day, several times a day; stamp carving; knitting; athletics; the way I engage my kids; an organizational and problem-solving and critical-thinking mind that makes life easy and efficient; etc.

Thanks for asking! Ridiculous notions about being expected to be modest or humble doesn't make for much awesomeness-admission in life (for women especially). Certainly not in public! ;)

    xoxo

  6. BTW, your awesomeness is always apparent but that assembly line action for making purses was brilliant.

  7. You are so talented. In fact, you have inspired me to drag out my sewing machine (which has been in the garage for a few years) and start sewing for my little girl. I cut out my first attempt at a self-created pattern last night and I am hoping when I am finished, I can say I am awesome! Hope, hope, hope! If I can't say I am awesome....I will stick to baking! :-)

  13. Hey Jessa! I would love to win the bag. My little hobby that I don't do as much of as I would like is writing. It helps me makes sense of the world, bring order of chaos, and it is so much cheaper than therapy. I think I'm pretty awesome at it :) Ok, can I have my bag now??? Put me in that drawing baby (and I will bribe Eli to pull my name out later).

  14. I love to win free things. Also, I love to read your blog (so much so that I'm subscribing to it via Google Reader).
I mostly say that I am awesome anytime I ride my bike somewhere. Not only do I feel powerful and badass, but I get to feel the wind and watch the sky (um, and the road).

  19. What makes me feel awesome: Making it through the day pregnant with two other little ones and not crying. We all know, I aspire to be more crafty-the thought just makes me so dang tired! (This is why you're the bestest and I love you).

  20. JESSA! I didn't know you have a blog! I didn't know you have an Etsy shop! I didn't know you had two children! (Okay I know that one, but things work better in threes.) I miss you guys, and I feel so out of the loop! I'm coming home in about a month. I love everything I've seen you make. Maybe you can teach me some craft goddessness instead of winning me a prize? (winning me a prize?? I should not teach English!) But I'll try. I think I am awesome when I throw a bunch of boxes, toilet paper rolls, etc in front of my class and say 'let's make a town!' and they DO! and they LIKE IT! and they keep asking me for the next 4 days if they can keep working on their buildings! I think, well done, Laura! That was awesome. Anyway, happy May, see you soon!
