Baby Blues

There is something so magic in these three sets of beautiful blue eyes. They're a little different but they're so the same.

They're the bright baby blues of my babies and the melt me.

Pink Vintage Hazel

I've said it before.

Girls really have it over on boys in the clothing arena.

Aside from the vast expanse of modern day girl baby cuteness that is available, there is a whole world of vintage gown-y goodness.
Much of Hazey's vintage wardrobe was passed down from my maternal grandparents. These pieces are at least 50 years old and were worn by my mom and her sisters and are so dreamy I can hardly stand it.
The rest is from my good ol' Aunt Etsy. She has quite the collection.

Yumma Yum Yum.

Getting Comfy

Yesterday I mentioned that in order to make some space we 86'd the two biggest pieces of furniture in our house.

It's working nicely. Things feel much less crowded.

The red gingham goodness was acquired free of charge off the sidewalk in our neighborhood and is now available again for the same low price in the alley behind our house. Get 'em while they're hot!

Flannel PJs for All...And to All a Good Night!

The tradition continues...

Every year I whip up home sewn Christmas jammies for my kiddos. This year I bought the Christmas jammy fabric months ago. It's Dr. Seuss' Grinch flannel and it's yummy and soft and bright.

Each year they are opened after church on Christmas Eve...

...along with a soft snugly toy to climb into bed with. This year it was a seal for Eli and a stuffed Francesco Bernoulli for Amos. Perfection for both.

Turns out, no hiney is safe around here. I clothed them all in flannel. Once I got the kiddos' jammies finished I just kept on going and made pjs for Eric, Yaya and even a pair for myself.

I sprang to the sewing room as quick as a mouse,
and whipped up some goodies for all in my house.
And I whispered to them as their dreams took to flight,
Flannel pjs for all, and to all a good night!

Peek of the Week - December 23, 2011

What's Peek of the Week, you ask? It's our regular Friday feature and it's all about you! I want to hear (and share with my readers) what wowed you this week. It could be a cool finished project, a work in progress, a personal accomplishment, a cute kid moment, or something that surprised you.

If we could peek into your week - what would you want to show us?

Each week I'll share my own Peek of the Week to get the ball rolling, and invite you to link to your blog post about your Peek of the Week. I know y'all are up to cool stuff - we wanna see it!
Ok, I'll start.
I've been having so much fun with LabelBox - the photo labeling app. I ended up with a nice little collection of silly holiday photos, some of which would make dope holiday cards.
Here's the full line:

 Look closely.

 Holiday Poo-splosion.

And this one's not exactly holiday-themed, but remarkable, none the less.

Now it's your turn.
You could get peeking in three easy steps:
1. Blog about your Peek of the Week - whatever it is. Whatever happened that made you proud, laugh, smile, inspired, excited, or just plain happy - now that's worth sharing.
2. Include a link to this blog or put the Peek of the Week button (on the sidebar) in your post.
3. Link your blog post using the InLinkz button below.

If you don't get a chance to get here on Friday, feel free to link your post up later.
The InLinkz button will be active for 5 days.

Monumental Shift

It's time for a monumental shift of focus. I'm not sure you know this but Christmas Eve is day after tomorrow. And the day after that is Christmas.

I had to put some Christmassy projects on the back burner in deference to the ol' J-O-B.

This rarely gets mentioned on this blog, but I do have a day job. In fact, I can't think of anytime I have mentioned it before. I guess, in this my 398th post, it's time to embrace it.

I have a job.
I am Communication Coordinator for the church where my husband is a minister. So I do their newsletter, website, bulletins, and weekly email communication. Most of it I do from home but some of it requires me to be in the office. And Hazel is my office mate.

Christmas is like the April 15th of church work, so the j-o-b has taken over my focus for a bit. But yesterday I wrapped up work on, and printed, 8 (8!) service bulletins for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 2 newsletters and a calender for January.

Finished. Completed.

So last night when I got home I began a monumental shift of focus to all things Christmas. There are projects to be sewn, crafts to be crafted, presents to be wrapped and stockings to be filled.

And three wee days to do it in.
So it's go-time people. There are 6 fresh inches of snow on the ground and no good conceivable reason to get out of our pjs and leave the house. This day is a crafty gift.
So, get thee to the sewing loft and sew, craft, wrap!

Go go go!!!
But first a little Hazey snuggle for Embrace the Camera.

Snow Day

 Snoooooooooow Day!

Days like this make me super happy not to be pregnant anymore. It's so nice to be able to romp and roll around the yard with the two best sled riders and snow angel makers on the block.

Also, now that I'm not pregnant anymore, I get to snuggle baby Hazel all day long.

And, I'm not as fat.

And, just so you know, I think when it's this cold outside, putting tights on my boy children is just good parenting. Also...super cute.
