I Forgot to Peek

But Hazel didn't...

Whew! What a week. So, for brevity's sake (we'll see)...bullets:
  • The Flash Mob is just 4 days away and things are shaping up quite nicely. We have a training session on Sunday and then it'll be here. Yipes! If you wanna join, all the deets can be found under the Valentine's Day link at the top under the header photo.
  • My etsy shop blew up this week! I average 2-3 orders a week usually and this week I had 8! Lots of fun little projects for sweet little babies far and near. So lovely!
  • Thankfully...I am brimming with energy lately. I started running at New Years (gasp) and have stuck at it and actually enjoyed it. I find that the pay off is lots of extra energy, which I need...in spades. I'm lousy with energy and I love it. I used to collapse into a nap everyday while the kids napped, but now I cook up fun little projects, tidy up, or fill orders. Who woulda thunk?
  • I'm addicted to Pintrest. Have you noticed?
  • Amos has been giving us...well, more accurately, his teacher...a run for the money lately. Surely not:
That sweet little nugget has been pushing the buttons of his exasperated preschool teacher so much that for the last three school days he's been the preschool version of suspended. You see, he's taken to rabble rousing at naptime. He's instigated a little mob of his own amongst the 4 other pupils in his 2-year-old class and that has gotten him the boot. The current "solution" is that when he disrupts the class at naptime, we get a call and have to come pick him up early. It's no kind of punishment. He lights up like a Christmas tree as soon as we turn into the Principal's Office.

That's right. The Principal's Office.

So, we scheduled a conference for Monday to see if we can come up with something better.

That boy is as sweet as they come, but he does enjoy malfeasance for malfeasance's sake. That's for sure. It makes him giddy. And it makes Yaya call him "Amos the Menace".

In a good way.

So, long story, well...long...life is a delight.

Embrace Boys' Night

Last night we got Hazel to bed and left her in Yaya's care and took our boys to the Denver Nuggets game. It was such a lovely few hours to be able to focus on them and listen to them without the distractions of meeting the very immediate needs of a baby...even one as sweet as Hazel.
We had a fabulous time. Amos fell asleep on the way, but woke up, perked right up and loved every second. Especially the Dip'n Dots (which are now called "The World's Coolest Ice Cream" - what's with that?).
Eli is a b-ball game pro. He and the fella go fairly frequently. He is so wonderfully four and it's delightful.

Sending this over the The Anderson Crew for Embrace the Camera. Fun!

Paint and Pintrest

Here's another idea we saw on pintrest:

So simple. No mess (although the constant threat of one). Hours, scratch that...days of fun.

All you need is craft paint in bags, fingers,
toes...and your imagination. We ended up using foam stamps, magnet letters, toys with fun shapes.

Even Hazel got in on the action.

Thanks pintrest!

Peek of the Week - February 3, 2012

What's Peek of the Week, you ask? It's our Friday feature and it's all about you! I want to hear (and share with my readers) what wowed you this week. It could be a cool finished project, a work in progress, a personal accomplishment, a cute kid moment, or something that surprised you.

If we could peek into your week - what would you want to show us?

Each week I'll share my own Peek of the Week to get the ball rolling, and invite you to link to your blog post about your Peek of the Week. I know y'all are up to cool stuff - we wanna see it!

My peek this week has a little of everything...
Crafting!
Sewing!
Costumes!
5 Minute Mania!
Pintrest!

Oh...and the cutest baby model west of the Mississip.
 Two Syllables: Yum. Me.

So... like maybe 2 years or so ago I starting thinking about these little Seuss-y, jester, whimsical crowns. I put it on my "to make" board and there it sat. Words on a board.

Then, as is becoming my custom, I had a dream about it. I woke up, dragged sleepy Hazey to the sewing room and whipped that sucker up in a fit of 5 minute mania.

Then it was straight down to in front of the picture window for a photo shoot in the early morning sunlight.
And, thanks pintrest for this sliiiiightly cheesey photo idea. Good stuff.

Now You!
You could get peeking in three easy steps:
1. Blog about your Peek of the Week - whatever it is. Whatever happened that made you proud, laugh, smile, inspired, excited, or just plain happy - now that's worth sharing.
2. Include a link to this blog or put the Peek of the Week button (on the sidebar) in your post.
3. Link your blog post using the InLinkz button below.

If you don't get a chance to get here on Friday, feel free to link your post up later.
The InLinkz button will be active for 5 days.

Embrace Your Face

We're all snuggles around here lately. I may have ruined Hazel for ever napping in her own bed again...but come on...who cares.

So for my Embrace the Camera post this week...
Extreme Close Up Snuggling

And in case you missed it a few posts back...
 Get the salts.

Happy Day Maddie-O

Today is a special day on our calendar because yes...we love the groundhogs. But also, we love Auntie Maddie. And today is her birthday. Yay!

I have resisted lo these 23 (Really Maddie? You're 23? Whoa.) years buying her groundhog themed gifts. Until this year.

So, get ready Maddie-O. These groundhog goodies are coming your way.

Happy Day Shadow Baby! Live it up like it's Groundhog's Day!
