It's Friday. Time for a Peek!
Our Friday feature - the Peek of the Week - is all about you! I want to hear (and share with my readers) what wowed you this week. It could be a cool finished project, a work in progress, a personal accomplishment, a cute kid moment, or something that surprised you.

I'm super excited (and totally shocked) about this peek.
A few weeks back I got a request from one of my besties. She wanted to take advantage of her sweet daughter's young age, and do the dorky matching this while she's too young to protest (I'm sure I'll be doing it too with lil' sis. Who are we kidding).
So she asked me to make matching skirts for them. I was super excited about such a fun project, but truth be told, I'm scared of grown-up clothes. But I knew she's such a good friend and close by (easier to have more fittings), that I could take on the challenge.
So she and I stole away to
Fabric Bliss one day to pick out snazzy fabrics for the endeavor. I LOVE what she chose.
And I got to work.
And whadya know? They're freakin' awesome! I started with a pattern, but by about step two I just went off on my own. The mama's skirt is lined, adorable, and fits to a tee (seriously shocked).
I didn't even reference a pattern when making sweet pea's little skirt. This is why I love children's clothes! They're so forgiving. I just eyeballed everything and went to town cutting and sewing and it's crazy cute.
So, don't expect to see too many adult piece showing up
in my shop. They're still scary to me since they need to, ya know, fit. But I'm thrilled with how these turned out and I think these lovely ladies look super cute!

There are some areas where North Carolina has a leg up on our town (and a few where it has a leg down, admittedly). It's lush and green. It rains and there are amazing storms. A summer night there is hard to beat. And there are fire flies.
Round two at Aunt Sharon and Uncle Bob's house/ranch/b&b (it's not really a b&b, but the hospitality they roll out always makes us feel like special guests. I wanna be like that when I grow up and get my pool, trampoline, backhoe, and tractor. You'll all be welcomed).

I'm not sure which the boys enjoyed more - the week at the beach or the afternoon spent at our aunt and uncle's house where there is a pool, a trampoline (more on this later) a tractor, and a backhoe. Plus dogs and blueberries to pick and a bowl of cookies to sneak from.
Amos was amazed...

We pillaged it for foam and cushions and put it out to pasture. See that wooden bar in the middle. That's what you sit up against when you brave to sit on this couch. Comfy.
So now two tablecloth chic couches grace our living room. We already had that rug down (which matches less well than it appears to in the picture, but it works). They are worlds comfier than the old one and somehow even with a whole extra couch in the room - it feels much more spacious and open. Sweet.
